Michael Fakler Earns Boy Scout’s Highest Award: Eagle Rank

Michael J. Fakler has earned the highest award presented to Boy Scouts of America-the rank of Eagle Scout. He advanced to the Eagle Scout rank on Dec. 15, 2010. It is a rare honor as only two-percent of Boy Scouts ever attains this prestigious rank. The Eagle Court of Honor was held Sunday, March 27, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Scoutmaster Mike Frederick and leaders and members of Boy Scout Troop 46 participated in the ceremony. Michael's parents, Valerie and Tim Fakler, participated in the ceremony. Valerie pinned the Eagle badge over Michael's heart. Tim presented his son with the Eagle neck scarf. In return, Michael presented his father with an Eagle tie tack and the Eagle mother's pin to his mother. Michael also presented a Mentor's Pin to his Scoutmaster, Mike Frederick. In the Candidate's Moment, Michael thanked his parents, grandparents, and other family and friends for their support. He also expressed appreciation to the Emmetsburg Rotary Club for their support of his recent community service project. Michael gave special thanks to his scouting friends from Minnesota who traveled to Iowa to attend his Court of Honor.
