Local Boy Scouts Gearing Up for Annual Food Drive

Everyone in Great Falls can expect to find grocery bags donated by Albertsons on their door this Saturday starting as early as 9 a.m. Montana Boy Scout Council has a goal of 100,000 pounds of food donations across the state. This is the single largest activity the Boy Scouts of the Lewis and Clark district do. Most years, they gather between 23,000 and 25,000 pounds of food in just one day of pick-ups. Executive Director of this district, Kyle Roberts, explains that activities like the food drive are important because service is one of the pillars of being a Boy Scout. This is the largest service project, but there are many other service opportunities throughout the year.
